Photography Services
We are available for event, product,
portraiture, and other special photography
assignments. This page provides information
for portrait photography sessions. Please
contact us for rates and additional
information regarding other photography
assignments.
Portrait
Session - Seniors, Families, Kids . . .

Session Fee $75 is required to
reserve the date. The session fee covers
up to one hour of photography.
Additional hours are $50 per.

Location Environmental and natural
light portraits are
our specialty. Photographs are taken in
various locations around the Des Moines
and surrounding area. If you have a
special location that would suit your
personality or interests, suggest it.
Our studio lighting is portable and can
be brought to any location. If travel of
over 25 miles from our address a travel
fee will be negotiated.

Proofing A few days after your session, your
on-line proofs will be ready for viewing
and ordering in our
proofing section. If you do not have
internet access, you may arrange to view the proofs at our home studio
or purchase proof prints.

Props You are welcome to bring props
such as; toys, sporting equipment, pets,
cars, etc. If you have any special
requests or ideas that you’d like to
try, please let us know in advance so we
can accommodate you.

Clothing Choices Simple attire is recommended. Keep your
clothing color and styles in line with
the background and environment. Neutral
solids (black, white, ivory, navy,
brown, etc) usually work best and lets
the individual(s) be the most important
thing in the portrait. Clothes with
stripes, high contrast, bold patterns,
and designs are distracting and will not
allow the photograph to feature the
individual. There is no limit on
outfit changes.
If you use makeup, wear what you normally
do. Avoid trying a new or extreme hairstyle
just for your portrait. If you wear glasses,
you may want to borrow frames without lenses
from your eye doctor.

Color Options
Any image can be converted to Black &
White or Sepia toned upon request.
Selective coloring is also available.
(where the photo is mostly B&W with
elements of color)

Yearbook Photo All sessions include an appropriately
sized electronic photo file for your
school's yearbook (seniors).

Photo
Retouching
CLICK HERE FOR
RETOUCH EXAMPLES>>
Photo retouching is
optional but
highly recommended. Basic retouch
includes smoothing skin texture, removing blemishes or scars,
evening skin tones, softening eye or smile lines, whitening
teeth, brightening eyes and face, lighten dark under eye
circles, color enhancement, sharpening,
removing minor flyaway hairs, and lightening
shadows. One-time retouch fee per pose
is $15. Untouched images are printed
"as-is".
Advanced retouching is also available.
That would include things like changing
backgrounds, altering colors of objects in
the photo, certain body slimming, removing
or adding people, etc. Advanced retouching
is available at a $50 per hour rate.
